Our Founding Fathers, pictured in “Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States,” never envisioned the type of political moment we now face. We are living in a troubling time. Our political parties are not working together. Talk has replaced action, anger has replaced harmony, and compromise has become a bad word. Our democracy has frayed.
