Lewis Hamilton closed in on Sergio Perez for second place in the Drivers’ Championship after the Mercedes driver scored a second-place finish, his best result since Spain earlier this year.
It was also a positive day for McLaren despite Oscar Piastri’s retirement, as Lando Norris’ third place launches the team above Aston Martin for fourth in the Constructors standings.
