Roseville hosts welcoming ceremony for 900 new US citizens

ROSEVILLE, Calif. —

Nine hundred new United States citizens received a welcome ceremony at the Grounds in Roseville on Tuesday.

Hundreds of citizenship candidates lined up waiting to get into the Roseville venue at around 8:30 a.m. They originated from 78 countries; the top five represented were Mexico, India, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Ukraine.The Sacramento field office director for immigration services conducted the oath of allegiance. U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock offered congratulatory remarks to the new citizens.
