United States Government Commits $9 Million in Additional Humanitarian Assistance for Nigeria Natural Disaster Response Efforts in 2023

The new U.S. Government humanitarian assistance follows a contribution of $6 million in 2022. The assistance is coordinated with the Government of Nigeria in collaboration with the United Nations and international non-governmental organizations to help vulnerable Nigerians affected by natural disasters. August 21, 2023 – Abuja – The United States government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing $9 million in humanitarian assistance to bolster disaster response efforts in Northeast Nigeria.
