Wolcott man accused of hitting police with baton, pole during breach at U.S. Capitol in 2021

United States Attorney for the District of Columbia A Wolcott man is accused of hitting police with a baton and a wooden pole during the breach at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021, and he was arrested on Monday.

Richard Markey, 38, of Wolcott, made a court appearance Monday and before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Spector in Hartford and was released on a $100,000 bond, according to the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.
